Homemade face pack for the skin as soon as you hear these words, so many questions arise in your mind. Are homemade masks safe? What is the homemade Facemask application process? So today, I will try to answer some of the questions that you have. I will also suggest some homemade face packs according to your skin type. 

What are DIY/homemade Face Packs? 

Did you know that you can use simple ingredients available at your home to heal your skin problems? Nowadays, for a face pack, it is very effective to use ingredients available at home. This is nothing but homemade or a DIY face pack. This type of face pack is very effective and helps in solving your skincare problem. Both men and women can apply face packs. People above the age of 14 can use these face packs.

How to Prep your face for Face Pack application?

  • After using face wash, use an exfoliator. If you are using a physical scrub, make sure it is mild scrub. And you use it gently on the face.

Here I will suggest 6 face packs according to your skin type. The essential ingredient of most of the face packs is Turmeric (Haldi). Turmeric is anti-bacterial. It will help reduce acne, fade acne scars, provide glow, soothe the sun damage, etc.

You might feel that all the masks are so similar, but they are not because a change of ingredient can make a difference on your skin.

Homemade Face Packs for Acne-prone Skin

This skin type usually suffers from acne, acne marks, etc.

Requirement: 

1 teaspoon of Gram Flour 

½ teaspoon of Curd 

Pinch of Turmeric 

Mix everything to make a smooth paste

Benefit: Gram flour helps in reducing oil, pimple, and acne on your skin and brightens the skin. Curd helps to nourish the skin, reduces acne scars, and provides an even tone. Turmeric is anti-bacterial that helps to reduce acne, fade acne scars, and provides a glow. 

Important points: Make sure you use turmeric in less quantity because excess Turmeric might stain your face. You can even use wild turmeric that has fewer stains. 

Both Acne-prone skin and oily skin types can use this face pack.

Homemade Face Pack for Oily Skin

This skin type has excessive oil production on the face and is also prone to acne.

Requirement: 

1 teaspoon of Fullers earth (Multani Mitti)

Rosewater as needed 

Mix both the ingredients to make a lump-free paste.

Benefit: Fuller’s earth (Multani Mitti) deep cleanses the skin by removing dirt, helps in oil control, removes tan and pigmentation. Rosewater provides hydration to the skin, soothes the skin, reduces skin irritation, etc.

Important points: If Multani Mitti does not suit your skin, you can also use Gram Flour (Besan) + Turmeric.

Homemade Face Pack for Combination Skin

 

This skin type has an oily T-zone (forehead and nose) and dry cheeks.

Requirement: 

1 teaspoon Gram Flour 

1 teaspoon Honey 

Pinch of Turmeric 

Mix all the ingredients well.

Benefit: Gram flour reduces oiliness, brightens the skin, and provides a glow to your face. Honey is a very beneficial ingredient for dry skin. It moisturizes without making the skin oily, clears away the dirt. It makes your skin look youthful. Turmeric helps prevent acne due to its antiseptic properties and provides glow and luster to your skin. 

Important points: Make sure you use Turmeric in less quantity because excess turmeric might stain your face. You can even use wild turmeric, which stains less.

Homemade Face Pack for Dry Skin 

This skin type has dryness and dry patches all over the face.

Requirement: 

1 teaspoon Gram Flour 

Pinch of Turmeric 

1 teaspoon Milk

Rosewater as needed

Mix everything and make a smooth paste and apply a thick layer.

Benefit: Gram Flour has many hidden properties as it helps to improve dry skin and gives a healthy glow. Turmeric helps prevent acne due to its antiseptic properties and provides glow and luster to your skin. Milk contains lactic acid that helps remove dead skin cells and moisturizes your skin. Rosewater hydrates your skin, reduces redness and skin irritation giving a natural glow.

Important points: Honey might make your skin a bit sticky, but that will reduce after some time. Turmeric can stain then you have to make sure you use it in less quantity.

Homemade Face Pack for Dry skin with Dullness

This skin type has dry patches with dullness on the face.

Requirement: 

1 teaspoon Rice flour 

½ teaspoon Aloe Vera gel 

1 teaspoon Milk 

Pinch of Turmeric

Rosewater as needed

Mix all the ingredients well.

Benefit: Rice flour helps to brighten the skin, improves skin, and helps in spot reduction. Aloe Vera gel helps to soothe and moisturize skin, reduce acne infections and scars. It is the best ingredient for dry skin types. Turmeric helps to even out the skin and gives a healthy glow. Rosewater hydrates and provides a glow to the skin. Milk is a moisturizing ingredient for dry skin.

Homemade face pack for sensitive skin 

This skin type gets irritated most of the time that causes redness, pimples, and acne. If you have such a skin type, you have to be extra cautious about your skin.

Requirement: 

1 teaspoon Aloe Vera 

1 teaspoon Rosewater 

A Pinch of Turmeric 

Mix everything and make a paste.

Benefit: 

Aloe Vera has cooling properties which help to soothe the skin. Aloe Vera reduces sunburn and moisturizes the skin. Rosewater hydrates the skin. Turmeric is antiseptic and anti-bacterial. It helps with the acne and scarring issues of the skin.

Important points: Make sure every ingredient you use is fragrance-free. A fragrance in the ingredient might affect sensitive skin. This face pack might have a running consistency so that it might fall on your clothes while applying.
